About the Role

We’re looking for a Data Platform Architect to design, evolve, and govern our client enterprise data platform. In this role, you’ll define the architectural standards and engineering patterns that enable reliable, scalable data ingestion, transformation, storage, and analytics across the organization.

This is a hands-on architecture role focused on building practical, durable data infrastructure rather than purely conceptual design. You’ll collaborate closely with BI, application teams, and IT leadership to ensure our data ecosystem supports reporting, analytics, operational decision-making, and emerging AI initiatives.

You’ll also maintain architectural familiarity with core operational systems to ensure sustainable integrations and reduce long-term vendor dependency risks.

What You’ll Do

-Design and maintain the architecture of the enterprise data platform across ingestion, transformation, storage, and semantic modeling layers.

-Establish scalable patterns for data ingestion, orchestration, transformation workflows, and curated analytics datasets.

-Define standards for data modeling, documentation, and platform organization to ensure consistency and maintainability.

-Evaluate and improve existing pipelines and workflows to reduce duplication and increase reliability.

-Maintain a forward-looking architectural roadmap supporting analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives.

-Define best practices for data engineering, including pipeline design, orchestration, monitoring, and observability.

-Ensure compliance with access control, encryption, and environment separation standards.

-Provide architectural guidance and technical reviews for major data pipelines and integration initiatives.

-Lead and mentor data engineers and contractors supporting the enterprise data platform.

-Translate architecture standards into actionable engineering plans and implementation workstreams.

-Oversee delivery of pipelines, integration frameworks, and platform components across internal and external teams.

-Ensure contractor deliverables remain documented, maintainable, and aligned with long-term platform goals.

-Implement metadata, lineage, and documentation strategies to strengthen data transparency and trust.

-Define monitoring strategies for data quality, pipeline health, and platform performance.

-Collaborate with BI and analytics teams to simplify data access and reduce report-level logic complexity.

-Design curated datasets supporting advanced analytics and future AI-driven initiatives.

-Maintain architectural familiarity with core operational systems and their integration patterns into the enterprise analytics environment.

Required Qualifications

-8+ years of experience in data engineering, platform architecture, or enterprise data systems.

-Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise data platforms in cloud or hybrid environments.

-Strong experience with:

-SQL and data modeling

-ETL / ELT pipeline design

-Data warehouse or lakehouse architectures

-Data integration and orchestration tools

-Experience leading or mentoring data engineers or technical teams.

-Strong understanding of data governance, security, and access management.

-Ability to translate business and analytics requirements into scalable data architecture solutions.

-Preferred Qualifications

-Experience working in professional services, legal, or other regulated industries.

-Experience supporting enterprise BI platforms such as Power BI.

-Familiarity with Azure-based data ecosystems.

-Experience enabling advanced analytics, AI, or machine learning initiatives.

-Experience integrating operational systems into enterprise data platforms.
